Though the national economy has struggled throughout the last decade, the State of Indiana has quietly established itself as an environment where defense-related companies are thriving.  In 2010, more than 1,100 Indiana businesses were awarded defense-related federal contracts worth a total of more than $4 billion, and which supported more than 40,000 high-paying jobs for Hoosier citizens. The majority of those contracts were concentrated in high-wage industries like transportation equipment manufacturing, computer and electronics manufacturing, and professional and scientific services.

Conexus Indiana, in partnership with the Indiana Economic Development Corporation, is working to ensure that the aerospace & defense industry continues to flourish in Indiana. By creating the industry-led Indiana Aerospace & Defense Council, Conexus hopes to be a catalyst for programs and opportunities that will support a prosperous economy and a competitive defense marketplace for years to come.
