In 2012, after more than a year of development with Indiana manufacturing and logistics companies large and small, Ivy Tech Community College, APICS, and the Indiana Department of Education, Conexus Indiana launched Hire Technology. Born of a need for a workforce well versed in advanced manufacturing and logistics (AML) concepts and processes, Hire Technology has become the standard high-school AML curriculum in Indiana.

Hire Technology is offered at high schools and career centers across the state and is designed to prepare students to enter the work force at a middle-skill level right after high school, or give them a jump start on their post-secondary AML studies. Regardless, the results are the same: an emerging workforce that understands the concepts of safety, quality, process improvement, basic lean theory, and the technology prevalent in today’s AML facilities.

To ensure that you have first pick of these graduates, contact your local schools and start building a relationship with their Hire Technology classes. Or, better yet, join the Conexus A+ Partners program to work with a local school to bring real-world relevance to the curriculum, advise on projects, and help recruit future industry leaders.

Can’t find a Hire Technology classroom in your area? Let us know, and you can help us bring your local high school or career center on board. Contact Conexus: 317.638.2109

Success – By the Numbers:

  • 186 schools will make the program available to students in 2015-2016.
  • More than 2,000 students have participated in the program to date.
  • 169 A+ Partners are helping educators promote AML careers and skills.
  • 80% of students are earning dual credits or credentials.
  • 1 longitudinal study of student placements begun.
