(Indianapolis, Mar. 19, 2018) Conexus Indiana announced today it is seeking nominations for the inaugural Andre B. Lacy Vanguard Award, which aims to recognize individuals who demonstrate three key qualities its namesake exhibited: championship of the advanced manufacturing and logistics industries; advocacy for civic and philanthropic leadership; and a visionary perspective that challenges the status quo. The award commemorates local philanthropist and business leader, Andre B. Lacy, who passed away in November 2017.
Lacy had a lasting impact on Indiana as the third-generation leader of his family business, Lacy Diversified Industries Ltd. (LDI). He expanded LDI from a small manufacturing operation to a company with global interests in manufacturing, distribution, and logistics. Known in the community for his adventurous spirit and make-it-happen mentality, Lacy is the namesake of Butler University’s School of Business. In addition to his civic leadership and service on numerous corporate and community boards, Lacy was an early champion of Conexus Indiana.
“Indiana is a better place to live and work because of Andre’s leadership,” said J. Mark Howell, president and CEO of Conexus Indiana. “Conexus is proud to establish an award in his name to recognize the next generation of leaders who are carrying on Andre’s legacy of positively impacting the advanced manufacturing and logistics industries and improving our state. We hope this award will create role models and eventually result in a powerful cohort of winners who will continue industry leadership.”
Nominations can be submitted online at http://www.conexusindiana.com/andre-b-lacy-vanguard-award/ until May 4, 2018. The award winner will be announced at the June 7, 2018 breakfast event in Indianapolis titled, Advanced Manufacturing and Logistics: Indiana’s Innovation Economy – Exploring Transportation Megatrends.
