State Workforce Cabinet Chairman Danny Lopez joins Conexus Indiana Board of Directors

INDIANAPOLIS (July 26, 2018) Conexus Indiana today announced Danny Lopez, chairman of Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb’s Workforce Cabinet, as the newest appointee to the Conexus Indiana Board of Directors. Lopez joins a 12-member board, which is comprised of statewide leaders who guide Conexus Indiana in its mission to accelerate, promote and grow Indiana’s advanced manufacturing and logistics economy.

“With our focus on Indiana’s dominant advanced manufacturing and logistics industries, Conexus Indiana is fortunate to have a long-standing partnership with the State of Indiana,” said J. Mark Howell, president and CEO of Conexus Indiana. “We are extremely excited to have a public-sector leader of Danny’s caliber help execute our strategy and optimize our impact moving forward.”

Prior to his chairmanship of the Workforce Cabinet, Lopez served as Governor Holcomb’s deputy chief of staff and Lieutenant Governor Holcomb’s chief of staff under the previous administration. He began his work in politics, advocacy, and government in 2004 as managing partner of Capitol Gains Corp., a political consulting and Spanish-language media relations firm with a client portfolio ranging from national and international candidates to domestic and multi-national corporations.

In 2008, Lopez and his family moved to Indiana, where he has since held several leadership positions at all levels of government. Prior to his work with Governor Holcomb, he was state director for United States Senator Dan Coats, special assistant for Indiana Governor Mike Pence, deputy director for the State of Indiana Civil Rights Commission, executive director for the State of Indiana Commission on Hispanic Affairs, and director of legislation/director of communications for City of Bloomington Mayor Mark Kruzan.

Lopez is engaged in a multitude of private and public organizations outside of work serving a true cross-section of Hoosiers. He was named to the Indianapolis Business Journal’s prestigious Forty Under 40 list in 2016 and has previously served on a number of boards, including the State of Indiana Charter School Board, the City of Bloomington Economic Development Commission, the Christamore House in Haughville, and the Alumni Association of Belen Jesuit Schools of Miami and Havana. He also participated as a Subcommittee Co-Chair for the 2012 Super Bowl Committee.

A member of the Stanley K. Lacy Leadership Program Class XXXIX, Lopez currently serves on the Board of Directors for the YMCA of Greater Indianapolis, Leadership Indianapolis, VisitIndy, and the Boy Scouts of Central Indiana.
