We inspire talent to learn about advanced manufacturing and logistics, gain skills and seek meaningful careers.

Inspire Talent

Hoosier companies are on the leading edge of innovation, developing new technologies to make products better and faster and to speed product delivery from factory floor to store shelves. As Indiana’s advanced manufacturing and logistics companies create new opportunities, Conexus Indiana inspires students to excel in these exciting industry sectors.

Conexus Indiana brings together a diverse advanced manufacturing and logistics community to build tomorrow’s skilled talent through industry-endorsed high school classroom curriculum, experiential learning and earning opportunities, and industry partnerships.

Finding skilled talent has been an ongoing challenge for Indiana manufacturers and logistics companies. The gap between the skills industry needs and the skills talent possess is expected to widen as technologies, such as additive manufacturing and the Internet of Things, become standard.

High School:  Hire Tech high school curriculum inspires students to learn and earn credentials to succeed as the next generation of advanced manufacturing and logistics innovators. The high school program combines classroom instruction with exciting, real-world experiences, helping students ascend to careers right out of high school or earn college credit to pursue further education.

Post-secondary: Students pursuing degrees in advanced manufacturing/engineering or supply chain management have access to Conexus Indiana-endorsed courses in industrial maintenance and supply chain, operations and logistics.

Each year, hundreds of high school students are chosen for six-week work experiences with Hoosier advanced manufacturing and logistics companies. Conexus Interns pays high school students to work with skilled AML experts in quality inspection, warehouse management systems and Kaizen events, effectively translating classroom instruction into practical experience.

For industry partners, Conexus Interns gives them access to talent who know how to get the job done. Better yet, the Conexus Interns program provides support to launch paid internships at little or no cost to employers.

Case Competitions

Interpersonal communication skills, problem-solving and team work are key components to succeeding in the fast-paced, ever-changing advanced manufacturing and logistics industry. Conexus Indiana hosts a case competition every year as a way to encourage students to practice real-life decision-making and problem-solving skills.
