Indiana firms are at various stages along the digital adoption journey, with many large, global companies taking steps to lead the nation in Industry 4.0, while smaller firms often encounter barriers or simply don’t have the bandwidth to adopt new technologies. There also is an untapped opportunity for new firms to be formed, as Industry 4.0 lowers barriers for startup.
Our work is focused on developing pathways for the advanced manufacturing and logistics sectors to experience digital transformation, remain competitive with their global peers and create an environment for new, innovative businesses and partnerships. This can be accomplished by assisting in technology adoption; by fostering innovation and collaborative partnerships; and by helping firms understand what technologies exist and which to invest in.
At the same time, through our talent development programs, we are proactively addressing the impact of automation and other new advanced technologies on workforce needs of today and in the future.
