Logistics innovator Cathy Langham receives Andre B. Lacy Vanguard Award

INDIANAPOLIS (May 28, 2019) Conexus Indiana today announced Cathy Langham, president and chief executive officer of Langham Logistics, is the recipient of the second annual Andre B. Lacy Vanguard award.

The award, named after local philanthropist and business leader Andre B. Lacy, honors Hoosier leaders who champion the advanced manufacturing and logistics industries, model civic and philanthropic leadership, and demonstrate visionary perspective that challenges the status quo.

“Conexus Indiana is honored to bestow the Andre B. Lacy Vanguard award on such a dedicated visionary as Cathy Langham,” said J. Mark Howell, president and CEO of Conexus Indiana. “Cathy has been a pioneer in leveraging advanced technologies to propel not only Langham Logistics but the broader logistics industry. She exemplifies the type of leader we look for, the type that our friend Andre represented.”

Langham is being recognized for this award as a result of her commitment over the last several years to using her time in ways that benefit her company, employees and community.

Langham co-founded Langham Logistics with her brother and sister in 1988 after selling her trucking and air freight franchises. Today, Langham Logistics is an Indiana success story with more than 180 employees and over 1.2 million sq. ft of warehousing, servicing a wide range of industries including pharmaceuticals, food and beverage, automotive and retail. Langham’s visibility as CEO of a fast-growing business enterprise earned her firm a visit from then-President George W. Bush.

In 2005, she accepted a six-year role on the Indiana Economic Development Corporation Board at the invitation of Governor Mitch Daniels. In 2012, Langham was honored with the Sagamore of the Wabash award from Governor Daniels and served as vice chair of The Superbowl 2012 Host Committee. In 2015, she co-chaired Governor Mike Pence’s Blue Ribbon panel charged with creating and prioritizing the next 10 to 30 years of transportation infrastructure for the State of Indiana.

Langham is a member of the boards of directors for Celadon Group Inc, the Central Indiana Corporate Partnership (CICP), and the Indy Championships Fund. She also served more than ten years on the Conexus Indiana Board of Directors.

Langham is a graduate of the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University and lives in Carmel with her husband Rick Kocerha.

The inaugural Andre B. Lacy Award was given to F. Joseph Loughrey last year in recognition of his impact on Indiana as president of Cummins, and his commitment to organizations that support the growth of the advanced manufacturing and logistics industries.

The award will be presented at Conexus Indiana’s summer industry event hosted in partnership with the Indianapolis Business Journal on June 7.
